Potsdam – a place with a more than 1000 years of history, who was always in the focus of German history, residence and garrison city of Prussian kings, court, military and administrative town. The sober tolerance of Prussia is still reflected today reflected in the Potsdam cityscape.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall the GDR district capital became the capital of the newly founded state of Brandenburg.
Our practice location is only a few minutes walk from the pedestrian zone and can be easily reached by public transport or your own car. In the center of Potsdam next to many small and larger designer retailers there are countless beautiful cafes that invite you to rest and relax for a cup of coffee and a piece of cake.
As the parking facilities in the city center are extremely limited and expensive for longer parking times, we recommend our patients to use the underground car park at the Luisenplatz directly at the Brandenburg Gate. From there you can reach our premises in Bäckerstrasse 5 in ten minutes.

After many years of working together, we say goodbye with mixed feelings to our esteemed colleague Dr. Schenderlein, who is now entering his well-deserved retirement.
Dr. Schenderlein was far more than an outstanding surgeon for the Gelenk- und Wirbelsäulenzentrum Potsdam: He was a person with heart, a calming influence in the daily practice, and an attentive listener – for his patients as well as for the whole team.
His professional expertise, patience and empathetic manner have played a decisive role in shaping the practice. For many of us, he was a reliable constant over the years, providing security and trust.
Dear Dr. Schenderlein, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful time, the inspiring collaboration and the human solidarity you helped to create. We wish you health and happiness in this new phase of your life – and above all plenty of time for everything that has been neglected so far.
We will miss you so much – and you are always welcome!
Your team from the Gelenk- und Wirbelsäulenzentrum Potsdam
